The traditional handcrafted 'Nduja of Spilinga in the comfortable sac a poche carefully selected and packaged free of additives, dyes and preservatives.

Ours is a typical production, by artisans who have been producing our 'Nduja for four generations. The 'Nduja is the typical product par excellence of Calabria and Spilinga the country par excellence of 'Nduja renowned throughout the world.

The origins of the Calabrian 'Nduja date back to the Napoleonic period (1806-1815). It seems that in that period, Gioacchino Murat, Napoleon Bonaparte's brother-in-law, had ordered his followers to distribute a tripe-based French salami free of charge, to enter the good graces of the Lazarus of the Neapolitan state. This cured meat had a name that sounds particularly familiar today: andouille.

Apparently it was successful among the Calabrians, who appropriated the idea by modifying the recipe based on the resources of the time: fat, pork rinds, offal and, of course, hot pepper.

Since then the preparation has been refined, and today the ingredients include meat and fat (lard, bacon, bacon) and hot pepper.

How to consume it: 'Nduja is a product that is consumed almost daily, in the most varied ways. Spread it on croutons, or as a condiment for pasta, vegetable soups or pizza and in any circumstance you want to add a touch of spice to the dish.
